Jewish Human Rights Network
Bringing Jewish people together to speak out for Human Rights
Rules of the JHRN
1. The Jewish Human Rights Network (“JHRN”) exists to create a forum to allow Jewish individuals and organisations to co-ordinate Human Rights projects and campaigns.
2. The JHRN is hosted by CCJO.RenéCassin (“RenéCassin”). Membership of the Network shall be open to any individual or organisation signing the Declaration on Judaism and Human Rights, and agreeing to abide by these rules, but shall be subject to that individual or organisation using the JHRN for its intended purpose, and not bringing the JHRN into disrepute.
3. Associate membership of the group is open to individuals and organisations with a commitment to the values of the Network, who are unable to sign the Declaration on Judaism and Human Rights, at the discretion of the RenéCassin committee.
4. If in the opinion of the RenéCassin executive committee, an individual or organisation is not using the JHRN for its intended purpose, or is bringing the JHRN into disrepute that individual or organisation will be expelled from the network, and will only be able to rejoin at the discretion of the RenéCassin executive committee. The opinion of the RenéCassin executive committee on such matters shall be final.
5. The RenéCassin executive committee shall have the power to refuse to allow an individual or organisation to join the JHRN if, in the opinion of the executive committee, that organisation or individual has in the past acted or spoken in such a way that their aims or outlook would not be compatible with the aims and good functioning of the JHRN. Membership can be rejected without giving a reason. The opinion of the RenéCassin executive committee on such matters shall be final.
6. The JHRN shall not make policy or run campaigns, but instead shall permit its members to co-ordinate policy and/or campaigns. It is expected that from time to time individuals or organisations within the JHRN will take different policy positions on given issues. No individual or organisation who is a member of the JHRN shall represent that any policy position that they may take is the policy of the JHRN.
7. No organisation may use the JHRN name or logo in relation to any of its activities without the express written permission of the RenéCassin executive committee.
8. The JHRN cannot be held responsible for the views of its members.
9. By joining the JHRN an individual or organisation is agreeing to abide by the above rules.
